One of the best fish and chips places we have ever been to! Fish was very well seasoned and the batter not greasy at all. Chips were proper chip shop chips and tasty sausage in batter too. Little pricier than local places but quality was better so don’t mind and paying extra but safe to say it’s better than other places I’ve been to in Covent Garden, Brighton and Camden. Comes with homemade tar tar sauce which was exceptional.
Service was friendly and owner even came out to say hello to everyone. Although offered everyone extra chips but us, didn’t want them as more than enough but just saying 😂😂😂
Definitely will visit again
Haddock was absolutely amazing. This might be the best fish n chips Ive ever had! They batter and fry it for you on the spot so it tastes super fresh, soft and melty in the inside and crunchy on the outside. Mushy pea was fresh and good as well!
What a delight❤️we ate in thankfully we saw the portion sizes at the other table so shared a cod and chips. They didn’t treat me like a cheap skate (see what I did there?) when asking to share the meal. Place was busy. Lots of banter. Clean. Reasonably priced. Great experience. Highly recommend
What a delight to discover The Golden Chippy during a dreary travel day to London. The fish and chips were top notch, portions generous and the ale notable, and what topped that was the hospitable and engaging service! And interesting customers, who we stayed another 20 minutes to talk with. We're going back to try all the kinds of fish!
Great fish and chips! Probably best we ever had. Tried the Skate fish and Halibut, both were amazing with the Salad!! Would recommend smaller cuts of chips for more crisp, but great overall. Service was great as well. Highly recommend! 💯
